Postdoctoral
position available at McGill Department of Physics in the Gervais group to
study non-Abelian anyons and/or black hole physics in a condensed matter
platform.
The Gervais group at the McGill
Department of Physics has one (possibly two) postdoctoral position available
immediately to study non-Abelian quantum statistics topology, and/or study the
connections between black hole physics and fluid mechanics.
The applicant should have a Ph.D.
degree obtained no more than three years ago in one of the following areas:
experimental condensed matter physics, applied physics, electrical/device
engineering or any other related disciplines deemed relevant. We are looking for a highly self-motivated
candidate with a strongly “hands-on” attitude. The candidate should be very
motivated to design/build new instrumentations and be interested in working in
a highly multidisciplinary environment. Experience
in any of the following areas will be considered strong assets: (1) device fabrication
in a clean room (2) measurements at cryogenic temperatures and (3) extensive
experience with high vacuum and UHV.
Interested candidates should email their CV and the name and coordinates of two references at gervais at physics dot mcgill dot ca, and apply on the McGill website via: this link.
